Boo the Pomeranian is one of the world's most famous pooches, boasting of 16 million followers on his Facebook page. His fur mom Irene Ahn, a Facebook employee, created the page for him in 2009.

The Pomeranian's popularity took off when celebrity singer Ke$ha tweeted in 2010 that she had a “new boyfriend” and linked to Boo's page. A few days later, Khloe Kardashian blogged about Boo, saying that she had fallen in love with him.

Boo led a charmed life, meeting many celebrities such as singer Liam Payne:

Boo also has two books to his name. Noticing his rising popularity back then, the San Francisco-based publisher Chronicle Books asked his owner to author a picture book.

This book, published in 2011, was called Boo: The Life of the World's Cutest Dog. A year later, the second book, titled Boo: Little Dog in the Big City, was released.

Virgin America Airlines even named the adorable little Pomeranian its Official Pet Liaison, whose role was to offer travel advice to pet owners.

Boo's fur parents had another Pomeranian named Buddy, who was Boo's older brother and best friend. The two were travel buddies and were inseparable from each other.

Boo and Buddy lived with one another for 11 years until Buddy died in September 2017 at 14 years of age. Sadly, earlier this year, Boo passed away as well at 12 years old.

According to his fur parents, Boo started manifesting symptoms of heart problems shortly after Buddy died. They say Boo's heart “literally broke” when he lost his best friend.

The easygoing Pomeranian led a fruitful life, however—over the years, many people sent messages to his owners telling them how Boo brought joy to their lives.
